Sage Abra Suite Product Update for Q4 2012 and Sage Employee Self Service required Product Update for v9.1 are now available on the Sage Customer Portal.
Our final product update for Sage Abra Suite version 7.8x or 7.9x was provided in Q1 2012. Customers will need to upgrade to Sage Abra Suite 9.1 to receive future product updates, including tax legislation changes.
Sage Abra Suite Product Update for Q4 2012
This Product Update only applies to Sage Abra Suite v9.0x or v9.1x. It includes changes for Federal, State, and Local Taxes. For more details please refer to the Release Bulletin.
Sage ESS Product Update for Q4 2012
For Sage Employee Self Service (Sage ESS) users currently running Sage Abra Suite Version 9.1x, a required product update is now available on the Customer Portal: ESS Only Product Update v.910 – Q4 2012.
We have enhanced Sage ESS to include a security update that will also assist with PCI Compliance.
Important Note about Pending Legislation
As 2012 comes to an end, it is unclear when payroll professionals will have the final 2013 withholding instructions as released by the Internal Revenue Service, which have been delayed due to ongoing legislative activity. Some of the key payroll tax issues we are still monitoring closely are discussed below.

Until some of the issues above are resolved, it is unclear when the IRS will release the 2013 Circular E (IRS Publication 15), 2013 Form W-4, and 2013 Form 941.
Note: Any tax changes not received at the time of this release will be made available at a later date as a service release including additional tax tables and filing updates. Installing this service release will be necessary before you submit any of your quarterly or annual reporting.
